GATWICK, LONDON:

Flight RA109 leaving Gatwick

The number of airlines jetting young holiday makers off to the hedonists playground Ibiza this summer looks set to rise following today's unveiling of an entirely new travel concept- RaveAir, proudly boasting itself as the worlds first "clubber-friendly airline".

Familiar scenes at airports across the country of check in lines filled with brightly dressed young Clubbers mingling with pensioners, package holiday tours, and family entourages complete with screaming young children may now be a thing of the past.

Business Entrepreneur and Airline founder Phillip Whitchelo explains: "The travel industry as a whole has been slow to capitalize on the specific needs of the travelling clubber, a market which has seen explosive growth over the past decade. We saw a niche that simply wasn't be filled, and our intention is to provide a quality service tailor-made for this important market segment."

At last Monday's press launch, Whitchelo announced plans for his new clubber specific service promising an all new fleet and all new services.

RaveAir's plan is for dedicated, clubber only scheduled flights, initially operating from Gatwick and Luton to Ibiza twice daily.

The airline's conception began through a massive research campaign conducted in nightclubs, dance festivals, and illegal underground raves throughout the country. The purpose was to establish the specific travelling requirements of the clubbing jet set, and promised to deliver a quality driven customer focused service that meet those needs.

"We are possibly the first airline in the world to have been born specifically from the needs of the Clubber. We've asked, and we've listened," said Whitchelo.

The airline has gone to great lengths to deliver, right down to the little details. According to the Company's Marketing communications, RaveAir's passengers will have their own streamlined check-in lanes for family and children-free queuing.

Once checked in, company hostess will offer complimentary champagne and special 'anti-travel sickness' pills commissioned solely for the airline, precisely 45 minutes before lift-off - "We want the experience to really kick-off as the plane comes up off the tarmac," said Whitchelo.

"We quickly established for example that Clubbers were eager to begin their clubbing before they even reached the island," he said.

"Flying RaveAir means your clubbing experience starts right here at home, right on the plane."

RaveAir promises to provide complimentary hard dance d.js on all outbound flights. Water bottles will be provided as standard as passengers board the aircraft, and there is a special complimentary 'mini cloak room' - a unique overhead locker service above each seat.

The in-flight entertainment has been re-vamped to include specially modified cabin lighting- economy class boasts a laser display, 4000 watt sound system, strobes, and a fog machine.

In contrast, all inbound flights returning passengers from the "island in the sun" will have as standard a 'chill-out'" service, with ambient music, dimmed cabin lights, and onboard shiatsu head masseurs.

Also featured as standard are tailor made 'herbal' refreshments to help Clubbers relax and wind down from their dance holiday.

Like their rival budget counterparts, the airline stated they would not be providing any food on their flights, apparently not a priority for the dance jet setters. "Once they start raving at 32,000 feet, all thoughts of food go out the window. That's what the experts tell us anyway," commented Whitchelo.

The biggest bugbear of the clubbing holidaymaker however appeared to be the entry process to their destination, according to Whitchelo: "Everyone hates to wait, and Clubbers are no certainly exception. So it's no surprise that virtually every Clubber we polled wanted a smoother, more hassle free entry to the island."

Arrivals have consequently been streamlined in a bid to lure the lucrative club traveller pound. RaveAir in conjunction with Spanish Customs Authorities promises an airline specific 'clubber lane' to bypass normal customs and excise officers, and guarantees an automatic green "nothing to declare" entry to Ibiza, in an attempt to expedite the arrival process.
